Two cats dueling has left the internet in hysterics, with viewers comparing the rivalry to the witches in Wicked.

An orange tabby, Goose, 3, and a brown tabby, Archer, 4, measure each other up for a fight. The amusing footage, soundtracked to a Wicked song, garnered 474,400 likes and 2.4 million views.

“Prior to recording the video, Goose was picking on Archer for a while. Archer finally had enough and was ready to fight back. It’s funny to see a lot of the comments saying the orange cat is like Glinda. That couldn’t be further from the truth,” Ronda McCormick, the cats’ owner, told Newsweek.

McCormick soundtracked the conflict with “What Is This Feeling?”, a song from the Broadway musical Wicked.

The track, performed by Glinda and Elphaba, humorously captures the characters’ mutual dislike. In the play, the song underscores their differences and reluctant bond as roommates at Shiz University.

The number has grown in popularity again thanks to the recent movie adaptation of Wicked starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

Many commenters on TikTok drew parallels between the cats and Wicked‘s protagonists.

The dynamic between Goose and Archer reminded viewers of Glinda and Elphaba—the bubbly, popular witch and the misunderstood outcast—whose relationship evolves from rivals to allies.

In the video, the cats face off, tails swishing as tension builds, until Goose backs Archer under a chair.

McCormick explained the cats have wildly different temperaments. Archer is shy and reserved, whereas his younger brother Goose loves to play and aggravate his siblings.

“He has a lot of energy and reminds me of an orange-flavored Sour Patch. He’s sour and then he’s sweet!” McCormick said.

“They have a pretty good relationship. For the most part, they will play with each other, but oftentimes Goose tends to pick on Archer until he’s had enough.”

TikTokers were obsessed with the cats’ dramatic performance.

“ELPURRBA AND PURRLINDA,” said Aj Medina.

“A cinematic masterpiece,” said another user.

“When does this hit theaters?” asked another viewer.

McCormick concluded: “Goose is one of the smartest and most energetic cats I’ve ever seen. He opens doors, cabinets, and any container he can get his paws on. We have baby locks on almost all of our furniture. Archer is shy, but once he’s had enough, he’s ready to stand his ground!”
