The message contained a note from the “Jolene” singer, which read, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.” The post also noted that the family “has asked for privacy during this difficult time.”
Other celebrities also took to the comments section on the post to share their condolences for the country music icon, including Khloé Kardashian, who wrote, “Oh my heart! Parton first met Dean in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1964 when she was only 18 years old. The couple tied the knot two years later, with only Parton’s mother and the pastor in attendance. The two were rarely photographed together, and he kept a generally low profile throughout their 60-year marriage.
